What single piece of advice would you give a young creative before he or she sits down with you at PN10?
“You are unwise to lower your defenses!”

What was the reaction you got, the advice you received the very first time you showed your own book?
“Impressive. Most impressive. Obi-Wan has taught you well. You have controlled your fear. Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy me.”

Finish this sentence: “Kids these days,…”
“…don’t know the power of the dark side!”

Who was your biggest creative idol when you broke into the business? How did he or she influence you?
“The Emperor will show you the true nature of the Force. He is your master now.”

In your opinion, is it better for new creatives to sell themselves as ready- made teams, or as individuals to be paired up with who a CD believes would be a good match?
“No. Leave them to me. I will deal with them myself.”

What’s your personal favorite medium to work in and why? TV? Print? Online? Radio?
“Carbonite.”

What would you say to a person with one phenomenal piece in their portfolio, but everything else in his or her book is mediocre or worse?
“The force is with you, young Skywalker, but you are not a Jedi yet.”
