What single piece of advice would you give a young creative before he or she sits down with you at PN8?
“A young creative in 2010 better have some digital ideas to present.”
Finish this sentence: “Kids these days…”
“…don’t grasp digital and don’t devote the time to learn the interactive tools. I don’t really get it. They all use Social Media and the Web everyday, but somehow miss the advertising potential and fill their portfolios with print mockups.”
What would get your attention more, a portfolio full of amazing ‘traditional’ work (print, poster, outdoor) or a portfolio of pretty good boundary stretching work (digital, interactive, wild new guerilla concepts etc.)?
“I’m desperate to see some fresh digital ideas or guerilla concepts. Even better, the two combined.”
List three adjectives that describe the ultimate junior creative.
“Passionate, fresh and willing.”
Portfolio Night is as much about selling yourself as it is getting advice. Combine the two: what’s the best piece of advice you can give about selling yourself and your ideas?
“Learn by observing the best and try to surpass them. Produce small scale versions of your ideas and put them in use even before anyone pays for them.”
