When did you realize you wanted to get into advertising?
“I realised I had to get into advertising when I did my final art foundation project on Propaganda Past & Present. From the photomontage work of John Heartfield in wartime to the classic Saatchi & Saatchi work for the Conservatives, the political visual message is a communication art form. The opportunity to mix good design, comment and insight is a powerful medium. The challenge since has been how to bring those qualities to bear on things from an online bingo banner to a pan-european video game campaign. ; )
What are some of your brainstorming techniques?
“One of my brainstorming techniques is to imagine how extremes of the audience would use the product or service. From a deranged disciple to a disinterested dentist, it always throws up thoughts good, bad & ugly..”
Finish this sentence: “Advertising isn’t…”
“…the same … or good enough.”
