Overview
Organized by The One Club for Creativity, a non-profit membership organization which serves the advertising and design industries, Portfolio Night is powered by our City Host partners around the world.
Agencies, schools, creative clubs and brands help to sponsor and execute this event in cities all over the globe. Over the last two decades, Portfolio Night has been hosted in over 70 cities and on every continent. Well, we haven't quite made it to Antarctica...yet!
Portfolio Night has become one of the most important networking events for the creative industry. Fostering connections between emerging talent and established creatives; Portfolio Night is more than a review, it's an ecosystem of creative development, the launchpad of careers, and a major force in shaping the future of creativity.
How It Works
What makes Portfolio Night so special is that each host makes the event their own!
However, you can always expect an energetic, fast paced evening of one-to-one portfolio reviews. In most cases, young creatives (students, recent grads and young professionals) get at least three 15-minute reviews from established creatives in their region. To cycle all of the attendees through their reviews, these sessions can take up to three hours. Once the reviews are complete, the party begins! The night becomes a networking event full of new connections and probably some pretty good food and drinks.
All-Stars and All-Stars Champions
First and foremost, Portfolio Night was a networking event and an opportunity for anyone looking to get feedback on their creative portfolio. It was a fun and safe environment to learn from professionals who had been where they were and had built successful careers. Getting a book reviewed could be scary, but this was one of the best opportunities to gain fresh perspectives, receive honest advice, and build connections that would help in the future.
However, there was also a competitive element to the evening. As the reviewers met with young talent, they scored portfolios on a number of criteria. At the end of the review sessions, reviewers compared scores and notes and determined which young creative had the strongest portfolio of the evening. That person was named the city's "All-Star."
In January 2025, our All-Stars from around the globe competed in a week-long virtual brief competition. In groups, the All-Stars created a campaign pitch provided by our Global Sponsor. In addition to working on the pitch and presentation, the All-Stars enjoyed candid talks with industry titans, portfolio reviews with reviewers from around the world, and more.
At the end of the week, all groups presented to the Global Sponsor, and one group was named the "All-Stars Champions."
Our Champions were flown to New York City (all expenses paid) for Creative Week in May 2025 and spent the week brushing elbows with industry elites at our gala events, portfolio reviews, talks and panels, and of course, sightseeing in New York!
